Lyfe Jennings should have been the HEADLINER!!!
I am a musician who performs also so I know what a good show is all about..First of all the show started an hour LATE. Second of all, no one should be allowed to perform in Memphis at the Orpheum without a live band.. People pay too much money to hear a dj play tracks of your music which leads to my third point.. I didn't pay to hear 112 sing Notorious BIG and old Bad Boy songs and I didn't pay to watch Ginuwine do Michael Jackson routines and bring out a "glittery" microphone stand. I have Youtube, MTV, BET, & VH1 at home if that's what I wanted to see.. I paid to hear live music.. NOT TRACKS.. Lyfe was the only person who had the "LIVE" feel because he had a keyboard, guitar, and background singers... I would give him 5 stars because Lyfe gave the concert life... Ginuwine's backup singers sang more than he did and 112 only had 1 member who knew the dance routines.. For future reference, fans should be informed on whether artists will be singing to tracks or PERFORMING with a live band.. Had I known that they were singing to tracks and only one of the 3 acts would have been ENTERTAINING I would have went to see India Arie and Ledisi, whom I know would have given me what I was looking for in a concert.. Live music a nd REAL entertainment.. not a bunch of someone else's songs and dance moves.
